A young family building a new apartment block in Vilnius’ Old Town wanted a home that would not depart from the idyllic spirit of the old town. The old-world feel was recreated in the space with classic materials – old clinker bricks, oiled oak planks, linen window valances and calm tones.
The oak planks in the living room ceiling shattered the myth that dark colours reduce space – in this case, they increase it, creating the effect of a second space.
The collector box in the hallway was concealed with oak planks, which were used to build a storage box.
